These bedspreads have always been available for young children, depicting cartoons, but the trend has spread to a fad in teen bedspreads covered in heartthrobs and fashion plates.

Thread count is an important detail to refer to in purchasing bedspreads, much as it is in bed sheets. Higher thread counts usually mean higher quality bedspreads (so that the coverlet will wear more slowly through the years), though this is also usually reflected in the price. Pricing can range from extremely inexpensive, especially for smaller sizes, to exorbitant, if you are purchasing silk, satin, or other specialty material coverlets of name-brand high quality, especially for king size or particularly California king size beds.
